Lineage is the foundational Korean MMO. Released in 1998 by NCsoft, it established the blood pledge guild structure, the castle siege endgame, and the political map dynamics that defined Korean PvP MMO design for the next two decades. Lineage II, Throne and Liberty, and every subsequent NCsoft siege game traces back to Lineage's template. The original is still operating in Korea and has been ported to mobile multiple times.
